Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Yesterday we went to the Botanical Gardens. It was nice to get out and enjoy the Spring weather and see beautiful flowers. I would love to have a garden one day, but I need a lot of training first as I don't have a clue what to do with flowers. I am great at letting them die. My grandmother and great grandmother always had beautiful flowers and plants in their yards, but unfortunately their green thumbs skipped a few generations.

At the Atlanta Botanical Gardens they had an orchid display in one of the observatories. They had every type of orhid you could imagine. There was also a display of blown-glass orchids. It was amazing to see the flowers inter-mixed with such lovely artwork. Outside we walked through the rose garden and rock garden. I would imagine that in a month or so everything will be in full bloom and the gardens will be incredible. We will have to go back then!

They also have a children's area. You can walk through and touch the plants and flowers. They have slides and ride-on toys and a tree house. It's really neat. They grow strawberries, cabbage, sprouts, cooking greens...and many more vegeatbles.

Sydney had a great time playing with her two cousins, great grandmother, and two of her aunts.
